FCV Development and Initial Market Creation -Mission to a Hydrogen Society-

More than 7000 MIRAI was introduced into Japan, California and Europe by autumn/2018.
FC Bus named SORA is also being introduced into Tokyo targeting 2020 Olympics/Paralympics.
China started brisk Hydrogen/FCV activities. The current situation, challenges and future direction for Hydrogen and FCV activities in Japan, EU, the USA, and China will be described.

I joined Toyota Motor Corp. in 1978. I worked as a General manager of Fuel Cell System Development Div. from 2001 through 2012 after I was in charge of engine R&D and R&D management. I have been the Project general manager of R&D Management Div. since 2012. I am in charge of planning and promotion of FCV market introduction.

Honda Fuel Cell Vehicle Development and toward the Hydrogen Society

This presentation explains the Honda's Fuel Cell Vehicle development status, technical barriers and next generation development situation. And the value and positioning of hydrogen society are described with Honda's activities and concept, including the recent movements in all over the World.

Global Hydrogen Initiative and Fuel Cell Technology of Hyundai

Last December 2018, Hyundai announced "FCEV Vision 2030", where the annual manufacturing capacity will increase up to 500,000 vehicles including passenger and commercial vehicles by 2030. In parallel with FCEV, 310 hydrogen stations will be constructed by 2022 with Korea government support. Hyundai will present the current status and plan of FC technology development.
