Production of Fuel Converted from CO2 with Renewable H2

In order to realize a decarbonization society, we have been conducting research and development of the recycling technologies methanation with Hydrogen from renewable energy 25 years ago. In recent years, it became accepted as an important technique in CO2 recycling, until it produced the technical field called PtSNG in Europe it has grown into. The importance of it is re-evaluated even in Japan, methane technology development was described also in the fifth energy basic plan which was taken up as a technical challenge it should be developed by 2030. I will give a lecture on the history and prospect of methanation.
