Outline of NEDO Development Project for Photovoltaic Recycling Technology | ||
In this lecture, at first, NEDO's technology development strategy of solar power generation technology, "NEDO PV Challenges" is presented.
Next, a model has been proposed for predicting the amount of discarded PV modules in the future and the result of the estimation is shown. Finally, the case of NEDO solar panel recycling technology development is introduced. | ||

Hiroyuki YAMADA received the B.E. and the M.Tech. degree in mechanical engineering from the Tokyo Metropolitan University, Tokyo, Japan, in 1994 and 1996, respectively, and the Ph.D. degrees in materials engineering from the Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2007. He joined New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Kawasaki, Japan, in 1996. He is a director of Solar Energy Systems of New Energy Technology Department in NEDO. |
State-of-the-art and Outlook of Glass Recycling Technologies for Photovoltaic Modules | ||
This lecture introduces the history of environmental policies leading to the development of glass recycling technology and the history of glass recycling technology development according to various recycling law enactments. This lecture also introduces the achievements of researches on recycling of the end-of-life solar panels along with the guidelines amended by "Working Group on Amendment of Guidelines for Promotion of Recycling of Photovoltaic Facilities" jointly under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Environment and METI on November 5,2018, towards more advanced glass recycling. | ||
