Siemens Gamesa's Future Outlook of Wind Power Generation Business in Japan

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy will introduce its understanding of the Japanese market and the services required to lead wind power, as well as, wind turbine development through an expansion of solutions that are best suited to Japanese wind conditions.

Being involved in the wind industry for over 20 years, Jens Olsen is the Senior Vice President country lead Japan of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Onshore APAC. He has also spent 7 years as the Director of Sales and Marketing, and Chief Representative P.R. China at Vestas Asia Pacific/Vestas Wind Technology Beijing Ltd., as well as, spending 5 years as CEO and President of Asia-Pacific at Nordex SE. Prior to SGRE, Jens was also the Head of Onshore Wind Power in APAC of Siemens Wind Power and Renewables in China.

Our Role in the Success of Offshore Wind in Japan

Lars will present the current state of offshore wind as it expands globally, and the role that MHI Vestas is playing in the growth of the sector. Drawing on the strengths of its parent companies, MHI and Vestas, the joint venture has been playing a key role in the early days of offshore wind development in Japan. Lars will explore the drivers for growth in Japan and other emerging markets.

Lars Bondo Krogsgaard has been the co-CEO of MHI Vestas since April 2018. He started his career practicing business law, then subsequently joined DONG (Orsted), where he became Vice President in the renewables business. In 2006, Lars moved to Siemens to become CEO of the company's onshore wind business in the EMEA region. In 2010, he joined Nordex's Executive Management Board before becoming the company's CEO in 2015. Lars left Nordex in 2017 to work as an independent strategic advisor to companies in the renewable energy industry.
