New laser processing system by NTT and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is introduced. Single-mode laser of 10 kW class was transmitted for several tens m by the photonics fiber, and ultrafast scanning by the KTN crystal, beam forming of 10 kW class became possible by reflection type diffraction element. Various new processing technologies were realized by these technologies.
He received his master's degree from Osaka University Graduate School in 1982 and his doctorate in engineering from Osaka University in 1994. He joined Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., in January 1982. In 2010 assumed the position of Director of the Advanced Technology Research Center in the Technical Headquarters. He served as General Manager of the Nagoya Research Institute, Corporate Technology Management Headquarters, and assumed the post of Corporate Officer Fellow in 2015. He served as a board member for four years, and after retiring from the position, he is now a Fellow Advisor at the Research Institute.
